A hundred skyscrapers UC on any given moment.

December 30th, 2006 by mago

No! It’s on hold! But hold your horses, first let me introduce you
to this quite unknown skyscraper jewel:

Xiamen, China.

With over a hundred skyscrapers UC on any given moment but less then
two million inhabitants Xiamen have to be one of Chinas most active
cities in terms of skyscraper building.

Xiamen is also one of Chinas most popular tourist destinations and
one of the four economic “freetowns” set up by te chinese
government. Not like the red light district perhaps but good enough
for me -until now, cause Xiamen’s proposed new tallest is put on hold,
no! Designed by SOM it would(will?) climb 364 meters (1195 feets) and
serve as post and telecommunications building. Well shit happens, and
until further information is given let us grief together over this picture:

 It would have been something…

  Fast Facts:

  Xiamen Post and Telecommunications Building

  Status: On hold…

  Expected completion: Formerly 2008, now?

Nanjing a tiny 5 million, no more said.

December 21st, 2006 by mago

Nanjing, a tiny 5 million city in China most famous for it’s All-Chinese
hot-dogs. Kidding. But Nanjing is one of Chinas biggest ports, second
only to legendary Shanghai and packed with skyscrapers. It’s located
  here:

The Nanjing TV tower, or the Shangmao Century Plaza for you picky
ass-holes, are the current tallests of which the first mentioned can
be seen in the picture below.

The skyline of Nanjing is not the most modern in China but things is
about to change! First of all, check out this baby, The Nanjing Greenland
  Financial Center:

380 towering meters (or 1247 ft) making it the new tallest in 2008!

That looks more like the hi-tech China we use to know and best of all,
it’s already under construction! Like this wasn’t enough this building,
The Nanjing International Center 3 recently got approval:

Great addition to Chongqing’s already dynamic skyline!

December 14th, 2006 by mago

Finally a rendering! Wanhao Financial Center, located in China’s third
city Chongqing is already under construction and expected to finish
in 2008 but until now I haven’t had anything to show you but as sure
as the sun will rise…ehh, scr*w it, here it is:

Quite a sophisticated design and topping out at 377 m (1,237 ft) not
only make it on the verge to holy but also a great addition to the skyline!
Serving as a JW Marriott Center (and hotel?) chances also are it will
host an atrium and taking the skyscrapers height into consideration
  suggests a quite spectacular one!

  Fast Facts:

  Wanhao Financial Center

  Status: UC

  Expected completion: 2008

  Height: 377 m(1,237 ft)

  Floors: 72
