Tianjin, China: Shy architects?

February 19th, 2007 by mago

It’s amazing how these gigantic projects(to us Westerners at least) can circle around as noothing but loose rumours for years and then all the sudden start construction. Can’t imagine that where I come from, Sweden: the media would be all over them, perhaps that’s why nothing ever get built…(?)

The Tianjin tower is what I have in mind this time. 337 m, 1106 ft tall, proposed but not a single picture around and no architect but it woulden’t surprise me if the foundation is laid already. I keep investigating. In the meantime a Tianjin pic and the facts we got so far.

The Tianjin Tower
Status: Proposed
Height: 337 m (1,106 ft)
Floors: 76
Architects: Unknown

Start counting the dotts!

Not bad, Tianjin Tv tower is dominating the skyline(cities tallest if u count towers)

Another Tower in Tianjin: the Port Tower, looks like shit but it’s a tower alright.

Bye bye! (Ps. weee hosst some ammmazing olympiccc game sport, u like sporrrrt? I like porn. Sorry. Welcome to my tea shop , great offer!)

Shanghai: Let’s play!(the skyscraper-game)

February 2nd, 2007 by mago

Let’s play! Locate the non existing skyscrapers in the picture, the reward is a skyscraper-enlightened-state-of-mind.

Non-existing skyscrapers in the picture include the new tallest Shanghai World Financial Center butthe skyscrapers I’m looking for is the two in front of the future tallest: the Shanghai International Finance Center I & II.Photo courtesy to Cesar Pelli & Associates Architects and Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd.

Classy design + Classy height + Shanghai = Approved!

In 2011 the towers is supposed to reach it’s final height of stunning 320 m(1050 ft) a piece (640 m, 2100 ft if stacked on top of each other). In my opinion the best looking in Shanghai at the time, this pic just make me wanna go nuts:
