How could they? Not for a thousand years I would have belived China occupying Canada. Jiehh, I was wrong, just check out the picture, CN tower has been conquered and made into a Shanghai-like office-tower…

For years immigration in Canada let the Chinese in, onbly to establish their base camps “China town Vancouver” China town Toronto” -Could it be more obvious?
However here it is, the Wanguo Building proposal in Tianjin, China. Sorry:

I hope they got better pictures to build after then this but Torre Central is still one of my favourite Latin American projects and now it’s Approved!

300 m, 984 ft would make it Panama City’s second tallest skyscraper and although it’s a respectful height it looks even taller to me! The function is unknown but considering the boom of residential skyscrapers in Panama I’d say also this one is most likely to be one. Mamma Mia please let me win the lottery!
Fast Facts:
Torre Planetarium
Status: Approved
Expected Completion: 2009(You better hurry up!)
Height: 300 m(984 ft)
Floors: 82

Let’s talk big and by that I mean BIG. Abraj Al Bait Hotel Tower is a Colossos! Best of all? It’s UC!

Moscow or Mecca? Pirogue or falafel?
Photo Courtesy to Dar Al-Handasah (Shair and Partners)
They say some people can move a mountain and considering the suspiciously alike Lenin-Moscow-Seven-Sister-Tower-Design makes you think but I can once and for all make clear: This Mothaf*cker moves nowhere. In terms of mass is it the largest building in the world!
It’s already well under construction and when completed in 2008 will it not only function as a hotel but also as home to 65 000 lucky residents. Amazing! The hotel is ofcourse five star and you can see the great location with the Mosque up in the front on the picture. Until The Burj Dubai get’s topped out is it te tallest skyscraper of the Middle-East! Now I’m heading over to google to try to dig up some UC pictures for you. Bye.
Fast Facts:
Abraj Al Bait Hotel Tower
Status: Under Construction
Expected Completion: 2008(!)
Height: 485m(1591 ft)
Floors: 76

Improving this…

The Moscow Duma(City hall)
…ain’t very hard. Yup, Moscow is getting a new City Hall and Duma and best of all, it’s already under construction and it will take shape as a skyscraper! Quite a spectacular one to:

Could the unknown architect come from Barcelona maby? Or maby London? The Bridge
looks very much like one certain Millenium Bridge of over the river Themes.Hm.
I have to say I admire the Russians Though, this is quite a dearing project for a city hall! But although being constructed as we speak and expected completion in 2009 there is still alot of question marks around this project. First of all, the project is supposed to consist of four equally tall buildings(307 m, 1012 ft) but I haven’t seen any images with four buildings(The surrounding skyscrapers on the picture are the Federal complex amongst others.) Also some completely different renderings have been circulating the net. I’ ll get back to you on this, be so sure!

Where the magic will be happening, we hope.

City Hall and City Duma
Status: Under construction
Expected Completion: 2009
Height: 307 m(1012 ft)

People just seem to love makeovers and I’m no different, just check this one out:
Before:

After:

In extreme times like ours even the name could change, in this case from the somewhat wimpy “Nina Tower I” to a powerful “Vision City Office Tower”, Masculine! Graagghh! And best of all it’s now under construction! At 319 m (1046 ft) will it become Hong Kong’s fifth tallest skyscraper when completed in 2008, way to go king kong!
Fast Facts:
Vision city office tower

Now thing is starting to go out of hand here! Kuwait City’s third skyscraper abow 300 m, 985 ft is soon to see the light. The Square Capital Tower is now UC!
Most embarrassing of all is that this is the only picture I can show you.

Tada! Like showing a peaceflag on the battlefield today…
Fortunately can I give you a little bit of extra information to compensate, hopefully. Yes, the tower is under construction and yes, you guessed it, it’s a hotel, a Refad Hotel and for those of you who feel only slightly enlightened by that, the Refad Hotel chain is the one and only hotel chain allowed to build on this thing.

The man made islands, “the World” in Dubai. Refad building
it’s hotel in “Australia” to be more specific. More familiar now?
But unlike in Dubai, Kuwait City will have to be satisfied with a four star hotel or as Refad’s Antonie Yazbek put it: “The Square is a four-star-plus city centre, business hotel brand; The Four Stars serves the business and economy travel leisure market”. Source(and thanks to): www.hoteldesigns.co.uk/
And given it’s height that doesn’t sound to bad to me.
Fast Facts:
The Square Capital Tower
Status: Under Construction
Expected Completion: 2008
Height: 351 m(1,150 ft)
Floors: 63
