Actually, I think you’ll see that buildings are only allowed a certain height.

These changes in gebieden. Hier in Preveza, they are not allowed to exceed 4 stories or specific locations to build 5

kp @ 10:44 am

The ground is too weak for the weight the same in NY hey NY Greek word is love:)

Me @ 10:59 am

There are a number of 10 or more floors, but in some years is larger, and more.

Blunt I-run @ 11:50 am

own silhouette of Istanbul is ridden with them and they are ugly!
This is Istanbul, not New York!
Not reduce their impact on the traffic state.

argr3 @ 12:25 pm

I’m pretty sure you until a few years ago there was a statutory limit on the number of floors of a building might be.

You would find most blocks of apartments reach about 5-6 verdiepingen. Ik remember hearing from someone years ago that one of the reasons for the restriction had to do with the old airport of Athens on Ellinikon, and around the airport and town, had a limit to the height of the buildings. I remember in my old house years ago, there was always a Pan Am jumbo, which started in the afternoon, and it took centuries before a safe altitude. I could immediately tell that this area, as all the windows in my house used to schudden. Maar I really think that Athens can do without the skyscrapers or tall buildings.

There are plenty of cities around the world of skyscrapers, I do not think they are something other than a negative effect to the skyline of Athens.

But they are!
Just look at building which houses the headquarters of Mr. Kokalis “companies, or headquartres OTE up

There are very few high rise oculations in Athens and on the fact that the scarce land available for such developments against skyscrapers is. Nog one aspect is the fact that additional measures be taken against the “seismogenic” ground the cost of Construction is already high toenemen. Naast the buildings were more than usually criticized for the space that they had taken to the Athens skyline.

And that was mostly negative criticism.

Vaggos.Gr @ 2:10 pm

Believe me, Athens is better without them, I hope they never build skyscrapers in Athens, because the city verergeren. Trouwens, I do not think it moois. Naar my opinion, they make a city a very chaotic, not Athens not nodig. $pese countries have many beautiful historic buildings and we need to focus on them and not for very long and charm-less buildings bouwen. In some countries, people may think that skyscrapers show their country richer and krachtiger. Maar my opinion, more ugly!

ih8t4d @ 2:36 pm

Because the Greeks are smart!

Frank B @ 3:09 pm

It probably has nothing to do with the seismogenic country of Athens (Tokyo has a lot of them and it has more earthquakes than any other city in the world).

It probably has nothing to do with building codes. Regulation in the $pean city most regulated in terms of construction and building is “pretty” funny I think it has to do with the modern history of this city and it is traditionally small economie.

Athene was built in the years 50 by the low and middle income people who sold their land or old house in exchange for an apartment. With a bathroom was a luxury in those days.

It was cheaper to get a cheap, low-rise building construction and cheap flats to sell to mass than building skyscrapers, where flats just would not betaalbaar.
2.

The economy of this country was traditionally revolves around the public sector (60% -40%) to prevent large businesses or business arrangements or investments to gedijen. Vandaag the situation has changed.

But the country is too expensive. However, judging from other $pean countries, we are probably going to see some skyscrapers to rise in the toekomst. Ik’m not sure if this is a good or a bad thing. For example, with the whole government and the ministries in a building would save time and money and maybe even save some space.

sofisintown @ 3:29 pm

There are a lot of the earthquakes in Greece, is located in the middle of a bunch of tectonic ridges.

It’s not a good idea to tall buildings swaying left and right when the earthquake begins to hebben. Er hogere are a few buildings, some 20-22 storeys high, and are built on amortizators (such as the shocks of the cars) that a large proportion of shaking in the event of a tremblor absorb.

marianne @ 4:15 pm

They simply do not need to impress others with skyscrapers. Small buildings look much better, more “human”!
