Is Shanghai’s new tallest ever going to be topped out? Under construction
since 1997 with several “on-holds” and “re-designs”
makes the most optimistic f*ck consider a rope somewhere…This is what
it used to look like, before the refurbishment:

and this is the after picture…

…See the difference? Going from a bloody hole to a rectangle in eight
years of time -nice progress boys! Nah, enough of this sarcasm, can’t
help it sometimes, it’s actually one of my favourite projects at the
time. Sorry. Portraited on the picture is also Shanghai’s current tallest,
the Jin Mao building, which will be beaten with over 60 m (200 ft)!
A six star hotel will occupy the top most floors and cross the rectangle
will be an open-air skybridge making it the tallest outdoor observation
deck in the world! And the credits goes to Danish-American collaboration
Kohn Pedersen Fox Accosiates PC and East China Architectural Design
& Research Institute Co. Ltd, let us keep our fingers crossed for
2008 folks!
